A good invention

Skis

One of my favourite and helpful inventions are the skis and the bike. But I'll write about the skis. They were invented in the nordic countries, where they needed a way to move trought the snow. So the skis are the best idea, better than the rackets, because during the uphill, you go more or less at the same speedbut during the downhill, the skis are faster and safer. So it's a good way to move in the mountains. And funny as well!

Biography

Oriol Cardona is a Catalan athlete from Banyoles. He is a runner i summer snd a skier in winter. He was born in 1994 so now he is 25 years old. He studied in Banyoles high school and when he was 16 he joined to the Catalan selection of skimo. Five years later, he joined to the Spanish selection, with Kilian Jornet, among others. And he started to race in the world cup. Last year, he finidhed third in the world cup and right now he is one of the best skiers in the world.

We are living faster but, are we living better?

The world is changing very very fast, the tecnology affects in all the sides of our society, the transports, at home... Obviously, we are living faster but maybe we are not living as good as we should... I think we should take a break of inventing and developing new things and it's time to enjoy with what we have, because if we want to have more and more we won't be never happy.

Parents & Teenagers

Parents, are sometimes, a bit protectors of their sons, sometimes is good, but when you are 15, I think its not necessary. Lot of teenagers think that they don't need their parents, I don't think so. For me, are very important, I need to stay with them, not every hour, but I like to go hiking with the family. There are days that i have discussions, but I always listen to them and learn.

MOUNTAIN RACES

People use to go running in the city, or hiking on the mountains, but, if we mixed them... It's called trail running, it's a sport that every year bacame more and more popular. A sportman called kilian Jornet, is a catalan trail runner that i think tha have changed the philosophy of this sport, He always goes to the mountain with no much material, because hi knows that he is so fast, so he will return early. But other people, thimk that they can do the same, go to the mountain with no material or experience. That's too bad...

Anyway, I do mountain races, and I love it, I like to feel the warm of the people who is cheering up me.It's amazing. I train a lot because I dream big, so I want to be at World Championship. At the moment I'm Catalan champion, so I will trin and train to reach my goal.

Important person

Important person for me

An important person for me is my sister. Her name is Aina Montes, because is my sister, so our surname is the same! She is like me in girl, brown hair, big eyes, big smile and good humor. She is three years younger so she is in third of ESO. She rides horses, and plays voleyball. I like to stay with her, i laught a lot and we take pictures each other. Its a treat. Sometimes, we have discussions but its part of the game, and a few minutes later, we are laughting again.

Language assistant

TILLY

Tilly is our new language assistant. I'm very lucky because she is living with my family. She is 24 years old and is from Essex, in England. She comes from a Musical Theatre background and has performed since she was little. Although she doesn't speak spanish, she loves to travel to Spain. She has been to Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Almeria, Alicante, and many more. 

She has two dogs, one called Fredy and Oscar. Her favorite crisps are "Onduladas de jamón". She is looking forward to teaching at our school and learning new teaching skills.

MACK

Mack is the other new language assistant. He is from Maryland in the United  States of America. He lived in China for seven months and of course  learnt how to speak Chinese. He is a showman -he plays the guitar while he sings and earns money-. 

He also works as a adventure guide, climbing, kayaking with childs and all this stuff.
